The University Grants Commission (UGC) recently announced a significant change in the schedule for the National Eligibility Test (NET), originally slated for 16th June 2024. This crucial update was released on 29th April, catching the attention of aspiring candidates across the country.
Commencing from 20th April, the application process for UGC NET - June 2024 had already begun, with the deadline set for 10th May 2024. However, alongside the announcement of the application dates, UGC introduced several alterations to the examination format. Notably, one of the most significant changes is the shift from online to offline mode, marking the June 2024 UGC NET examination as an OMR Sheet-based Offline Examination.
Nevertheless, just when candidates were preparing for the scheduled examination on 16th June, another notification surfaced on 29th April, amending the exam date to 18th June 2024. This revision sparked curiosity among test-takers, prompting UGC to provide clarification regarding the reason behind this adjustment.
According to the subsequent notification, the alteration in the examination date stemmed from the scheduling conflict with another significant examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) prelims for 2024 is slated to take place on 16th June 2024. Hence, in light of this overlapping schedule, UGC decided to reschedule the National Eligibility Test to 18th June 2024.
With these updates, candidates are advised to stay vigilant and adjust their preparation strategies accordingly for the revised examination date of UGC NET - June 2024, now set for 18th June 2024.
