The Tamil Nadu State Eligibility Test (TNSET) is conducted by the Mother Teresa Women's University, Kodaikanal, on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu. TNSET serves as an eligibility test for candidates aspiring to become Assistant Professors in colleges and universities within the state of Tamil Nadu.
Exam Structure:
- TNSET consists of two papers: Paper-I and Paper-II.
- Paper-I is compulsory for all candidates and assesses their teaching and research aptitude, while Paper-II evaluates subject-specific knowledge.
- Paper-I comprises 50 multiple-choice questions, each carrying 2 marks, totaling 100 marks. The duration of the exam is 1 hour.
- Paper-II comprises 100 multiple-choice questions, each carrying 2 marks, totaling 200 marks. The duration of the exam is 2 hours.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must have a Master's degree or equivalent from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks (50% for reserved categories).
- Candidates appearing in the final year of their Master's degree are also eligible to apply.
