Purpose of Rajasthan SET 2026

Rajasthan State Eligibility Test (SET) is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in colleges and universities of Rajasthan.

Qualifying Rajasthan SET does not guarantee recruitment. It only certifies eligibility for Assistant Professor appointments according to the recruitment rules of the respective institutions.

Rajasthan SET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the following educational qualifications:

General / Unreserved / EWS

  • Minimum 55% marks in Master's Degree or equivalent examination.

OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) / SC / ST / PwD / Third Gender

  • Minimum 50% marks in Master's Degree or equivalent examination.

Candidates appearing in the final year of their Master's degree or awaiting results may also apply provisionally, subject to fulfilling the required eligibility conditions within the prescribed time.


Examination Pattern

The Rajasthan SET 2026 examination consists of two papers conducted in a single session.

Paper I

Paper I evaluates the candidate's:

Paper II

Paper II consists of questions based entirely on the subject selected by the candidate and assesses subject-specific knowledge.

  • Paper I will be available in English and Hindi.

  • In case of any discrepancy in translation, the English version will be considered final.

Marking Scheme

  • Each question carries 2 marks.
  • Correct Answer: +2 Marks
  • No Negative Marking.
  • No marks are awarded for unanswered questions.
  • If a question is found incorrect or dropped, appropriate credit will be awarded according to the official examination rules.

Validity of Rajasthan SET Certificate

The Rajasthan SET certificate is valid for a lifetime for eligibility as an Assistant Professor within the State of Rajasthan.

There is no upper age limit for appearing in Rajasthan SET 2026.
