MH SET 2026 Important Dates

  • Online Application Starts: 2 June 2026 (11:00 AM onwards)
  • Last Date to Apply (Regular Fee): 16 June 2026 (6:00 PM)

MH SET 2026 Exam Structure

MH SET 2026 will follow the same pattern as the UGC NET model with two papers conducted in a single session:

Paper I (General Paper on Teaching & Research Aptitude)

  • 50 Questions (Compulsory)
  • 100 Marks
  • Duration: 1 Hour
  • Focus: Teaching aptitude, reasoning ability, comprehension, communication, and general awareness.

Paper II (Subject-Specific)

  • 100 Questions (Compulsory)
  • 200 Marks
  • Duration: 2 Hours
  • Focus: Based on chosen subject from the official MH SET syllabus (32+ subjects available).

Total Duration: 3 Hours
Total Marks: 300
Negative Marking: None


MH SET 2026 Syllabus Overview

The syllabus of MH SET is almost identical to UGC NET, with two main divisions:

  1. Paper I Syllabus:

    • Teaching Aptitude
    • Research Aptitude
    • Reading Comprehension
    • Reasoning (including Mathematical Reasoning)
    • Communication
    • Information & Communication Technology (ICT)
    • Data Interpretation
    • People, Development & Environment
    • Higher Education System
  2. Paper II Syllabus (Subject-Specific):
    Candidates choose one subject (e.g., Political Science, History, English, Commerce, Management, Sociology, Economics, Education, etc.).
    The syllabus is detailed and aligned with postgraduate-level knowledge.


Cut-Off & Qualifying Marks

Candidates need to secure minimum aggregate marks across both papers:

  • General / EWS / Orphan: 40%
  • Reserved Categories (SC, ST, OBC, PwD, Transgender): 35%

The final cut-off varies by subject and category. Based on past records, General category cut-offs often range between 40–45%, while reserved categories may see cut-offs around 30–40%.
