Qualitative & quantitative methods, sampling, research ethics, report writing, thesis writing and referencing.

Unit 8: Technology in Education

UGC NET Exam Pattern (Education)

Paper I: Common paper (for all subjects) testing general teaching & research aptitude, reasoning, comprehension, ICT, etc.
Paper II: Education subject specific, based on the 10 units listed above.
Each correct answer carries 2 marks. No negative marking.

Comparison with SET / WBSET / Other State-SET Exams

WBSET (West Bengal State Eligibility Test) also offers Education as one of the subjects in Paper II.
The pattern of WBSET for subject Education is similarly subject-specific multiple choice questions in Paper II. Paper I is general aptitude etc.
Some topics overlap (educational philosophy, psychology of learning, research, evaluation), but state SETs may have additional regional or language/contextual elements.
