The 39th Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (MH-SET) was conducted on 7th April 2024 by Savitribai Phule Pune University on behalf of the States of Maharashtra and Goa. This examination serves as a gateway for candidates aspiring to become Assistant Professors in universities and colleges across Maharashtra and Goa.

Similar to the UGC-NET (Assistant Professor), the MH-SET is specifically designed to assess the eligibility of candidates for the Assistant Professor position. It's important to note that qualifying the MH-SET does not guarantee a job; instead, it demonstrates eligibility for the role.

The Savitribai Phule Pune University, acting as the State Agency, conducted the MH-SET in 32 subjects at 17 selected city centers spread across the two states.

Important dates for the 39th MH-SET examination in 2024 were as follows:

  • Commencement of online application: 12th January 2024
  • Last date for online application: 31st January 2024
  • Period for online application with late fees: 1st February 2024 to 7th February 2024
  • Corrections in the online application form on the website (no requests after 10th February 2024): 8th February 2024 to 10th February 2024
  • Availability of admit cards on the website: 28th March 2024
  • Date of examination (offline mode): 7th April 2024
